Classes

Classes are are listed below and are for all breeds of dogs – pure bred and mixed breed dogs. We offer Kindergarten Puppy Training, Beginning Basic Obedience, Competition Obedience and Rally classes.

All of the following obedience dog training classes are held each Tuesday evening at the National Guard Armory in Anderson, IN. Rally is held on Monday evenings part of the year. The Armory is located at 125 S Scatterfield Road.

Cost for 5 (five) weeks of classes are $60.00 for the five weeks. Classes are open to all breeds of dogs - pure bred and mixed breed dogs. Class Enrollment Form

We start classes every five weeks. You may pre-enroll by visiting the Indiana National Guard Armory any Tuesday evening between the hours of 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm. And you may enroll on the first night of classes. See dates below.

In the event of severe weather we will cancel classes. If you have a question about cancellations call 765-734-1107. We will post cancelled classes on the home page of our website too, when possible.

We also offer classes for individuals who are interested in competing in AKC Events to obtain AKC Titles on their dog. We have several instructors who have many years of experience in training, showing, and titling their dogs in Obedience Events and the newest AKC Companion Event Rally. Several of our AOTC members also belong to the Anderson Kennel Club and show in AKC Conformation Events and have tilted their dogs through to their AKC Championship.

Kindergarten Puppy TrainingClass

Qualifications:	Puppies 5 months or younger. Must be current on shots.
What is Covered:	Socialization Housebreaking Behavior problems Control - teaching puppy to walk on a leash Control - teaching puppy stationery exercises - sit, down, and stand General Health Care
What to Bring:	Puppies are required to be current on their shots.  Bring the most current shot/health record from your veterinarian when enrolling. Equipment you will need for the KPT classes are: leather leash, and buckle collar. No flexi-leads will be used in class and are not recommended to bring puppy to or from class. Small blanket or rug. It is okay to bring your pets favorite treat or toy to class. In hot weather you will want to bring drinking water for your puppy. View and print general instructions for this class

Who Qualifies:	Dogs who are 5 months of age or older. Must be current on shots.
What is Covered:	Beginning Basic Obedience consists of all obedience exercises. Heel and Sit ( dog learns to walk at your side and sit when you stop), Sit Stay, Down Stay, Stand Stay (teaches the dog to sit, down or stand in place), Recall (teaching the dog to come when called), Any behavior problems an owner may be having with their dog, and   Responsible Dog Ownership.
What to Bring:	Bring your most current shot/health record from your veterinarian when enrolling. Dogs are required to be current on their shots.  Leather leash and a properly fitted chain training collar. To fit your dog with a chain collar measure around the widest part of the dogs head (which is usually around the ears) and add 1 to 2 inches to the measurement. For your convenience, we have Handmade leather leashes and chain training collars for sale. View and print general instructions for this class

Novice Obedience Class
